Our 1st Weekend of Sports

The 1st Volleyball Game-Saturday

Volleyball at this stage consists of making it over the net and scoring a point because the other team doesn't make it back across the net, or scoring a point because the other teams server failed to get it across the net. This makes for rather painful and dull viewing.
The above pictures are of Sai scoring a point for the team by serving the ball across the net. :)
Post Game Activities
Moe spent the night friday and after the game they wanted to roller blade to the park, play some tennis, climb trees and play with Max.

They Swing!!!! And they miss!!! :) But we still had fun.

While the girls climbed trees I laid in the grass and enjoyed this view. ahhh!

And when I sat up this was my view. He is sooo Cute!!!

I love how she wears her nice shoes to climb in the trees. grhhh!

The 1st Basketball Game-Sunday

Sai is now playing in a different league for basketball and it is definitely more intense. At times she seemed a little in shock, she has nevered really played Zone before. But she did good and even survived being thrown on the floor. :) She liked the game and that is what counts.
( She is number 14)

It was another good weekend, full of new adventures!!!

Weekend Fun

Sunday
Today Sai went boating with her friend Moe's family and so that left me available to join my friend in a drive in her Viper with several other members of the CO. Viper Club. We drove through the mountains to the casino town of Cripple Creek, where we had lunch and then played the penny slots. :) It was great fun.

The pictures that follow are of the Vipers all lined up at one of our stops.

Saturday

PEACHES!!!!!
For a fundraiser we got 100, 20 lb boxes of Palisades Peaches, so a large part of my life for the last two weeks has been consumed with peaches. On Saturday we sold the last of the boxes. Hooray, no more peaches.

A Peach Cobbler I made for a BBQ we went to on Saturday night with Sai new Basketball team. The BBQ was great and I am really glad Sai is on this team, the coach and his wife are amazing people. The parents are all really positive. I am looking forward to this experience.

Sai's Aspirations

This evening Saige informed me that she doesn't want to be the president like everyone else. She "wants to make a difference in the world". Man I love my kid. :)

Labor Day Weekend

Sleepover
Sai's friend Moe spent the night on Saturday and had a great deal of fun in the basement with Max as the following pictures will show.

They fix Max up with a flashlight so they could run around and scream at him in the dark. Max was very tired for the entire next day!

Poor Max.

More Pictures of Yellowstone...

Thermophiles are cool!!!
We went to a really cool ranger talk about thermophiles (those creatures that love the heat of the hot springs and create all of the different colors, you can actually get an idea of how hot the water is by the color of them. Blue is hotter than orange.) We also learned about the plants and how inorder to live near the hot springs they actually are infected with a fungus, and a virus that helps them tolerate the heat.

I have never seen a place to recycle small propane cylinders. I have always wished I could, but this is the first place I have actually been able to. I wish it was more common.

I didn't want to share my camera so I bought sai a couple of disposable cameras. Here she is taking a picture as Old Faithful is erupting in the background.

The offical fire starter!!!

Sai started all of our fires while we were camping in Yellowstone!
It was awesome!

"Artistic" Pictures from Yellowstone

I love to take pictures of dead trees!!!
